Emachines was a PC manufacturing brand based in Irvine, California. It was purchased by Gateway Computers in 2004, which was later purchased by Acer in 2007. The brand name eMachines was used up until the end of 2013.
Troubleshoot an eMachines Computer
1. Try restarting it if it is not working. If if does not turn-on normally then turn the computer off and try removing other devices from the computer, maybe something taht you started using just recently.
- Running a hardware diagnostic test can help you identify what the issue may be and provide you troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue. Dell offers both built-in and online diagnostics. It is essential to run a hardware test on the PC and/or the battery to identify which device is causing the issue.
- Get the support you need for your eMachines products. We don't just deliver competitive computers at great prices, we also provide solid support to back them.
- Scan to optimize the computer’s registry. Your eMachines computer’s registry is a vital component, maintaining it can help solve many problems and also avoid computer issues in the future.

2. If the monitor does not turn-on or display properly but you can her the Windows start sound then your monitor is probably the problem. If you hear strange noises from the CPU or the hard drive and the computer keeps freezing these are also signs of hardware problems. Ask a computer technician for help.
3. If the eMachines computer is not loading Windows, then choose Last known Configuration option the next time Windows starts. If Windows still does not load then, try booting the computer with a Windows installation disk, or Windows restore disk, and run Windows System Restore. This can help return your computer to a previous restore point.
4. Remove temporary files from the computer by running the built-in Disc Cleanup utility. It helps remove various temporary files from the computer.

Click the Start button, go to All Programs >Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup > Select a Drive > click OK
It should scan the drive for and show a list of files that can be deleted. Check appropriate boxes and click OK.
5. Scan to optimize the computer’s registry. Your eMachines computer’s registry is a vital component, maintaining it can help solve many problems and also avoid computer issues in the future. As more software is installed, the registry becomes less and less efficient in the long run. A reliable system optimizer will not only automatically maintain your computer’s registry, but also fix any PC errors, ensuring your PC’s health in the long run.
This section covers how to move designs into eMachineShop CAD from other sources, and exporting designs to STL.
Import a Design
Import file types such as DXF, STP, STEP, IGS, IGES or SLDPRT.
Export to STL
You can export an eMachineShop CAD file to STL format.
Import a Design
Import file types such as DXF, STP, STEP, IGS, IGES or SLDPRT.
- Choose File > New > Blank Design.
- In eMachineShop CAD, choose menu File > Import and select Files of type:
- All files (.dxf .step . stp)
- AutoCAD R12/LT12 DXF (.dxf)
- STEP file (.step .stp)

Import via DXF From a Different CAD Software
- In the original CAD program, open the design and set scaling to 1:1.
- Make the design using the minimum views that represent all of the features. (The needed views match the orientation of the material during machining. 2D parts only need one view. For 3D parts, start with one or two key views and if needed, add other views later).
- Turn off title blocks, dimension lines and all unnecessary lines that do not detail the shape of the part.
- Export the drawing to ASCII (not binary) DXF format.
- In eMachineShop CAD, choose menu File > Import and select the DXF file.
Import a Turned Shape
If you have a CAD file that can output the cross-section of a turned part, it can be imported into eMachineShop CAD.
- In the original CAD software export the side view profile to DXF format.
- In eMachineShop CAD, import via menu File > Import and select the file.
- Select the imported lines and choose menu Edit > Cut.
- Draw a circle with a diameter equal to the maximum diameter of the part.
- In the line type drop list, ensure the line is set to Auto.
- In the Z-Control, set the value to the part length.
- Choose menu View > Front, then menu Edit > Paste.
- Move the pasted profile within the boundary line to the right of the center axis. If using the full side view, divide it in half to show only the right side.
- Set “Z” to Revolve
- Choose menu View > 3D to verify the turned part.
Simplify an Imported File
Imported files often have many small line segments that may increase pricing.
Simplify lines after importing to reduce the amount of line segments.
- On the bottom of the screen, view the number of line segments.
- If there are many segments, simplify the lines.
- Depending on how many lines there are, it may be worthwhile to draw new lines over the existing segments, then delete the old lines. This will simplify the drawings the most effectively.
Trace Images
“Import” an existing physical object using an image using the Tracing feature.

Washing Machine Troubleshooting Guide
If you have trouble exporting to STL, the following may fix the issue.
Emachines Troubleshooting Guide
- If one line or shape is partly collinear with another, choose menu Line > Contour to expand or contract the line a small amount, then delete the original line.
- You may need to remove near edge chamfers (bevels) or rounding.
- If splines are not considered closed in your design, choose menu Line > Convert Splines To Arcs.
- If any lines have many small segments, choose menu Line > Simplify or redraw lines by tracing over existing ones.
- Remove thread and bend lines.
- If the shape is a turned shape (like a chess pawn), but is not designed using the Revolve feature, choose menu Tools > Convert To Revolve.
- When a contour has arc to arc connections, try adding a small straight segment between the arcs.
- If none of the above works, make a copy of the design file, open it in a new design, and remove one feature at a time to isolate the issue.
